Compassion Meditation and Distance Healing

Troy Backus

In this workshop, we will explore the basics of compassion meditation and how it can be used as a tool to cultivate compassion in our own hearts and the hearts of those around us. During a 15 to 20 minute guided meditation, participants will be brought into a meditative state and shown how to connect with other beings and shower them with love and compassion. After learning the basic techniques, we will continue to explore the link between this type of meditation and healing work. Finally, we will discuss ways this modality can be used, not only to fill our own lives with compassion, but also to heal our loved ones, our society and our planet as a whole.

Light is one of the most difficult phenomena to explain, in fact the world’s leading physicists can only predict its behavior to a certain degree. Yet our bodies and minds are tacitly able to use light to observe the world around us, we don’t have to think about so many cosmic events that occur that allow us to live and engage life. Man has developed many tools to be able to take advantage of these phenomena, tools that help us do fantastic things here on earth and beyond. Telescopes, spetrometers, lasers, televisions, solar power the list is almost as long as the full electromagnetic spectrum itself. One interment that pays homage to this phenomena is the Kaleidoscope – it is used for nothing more than to bend and break light into shapes and colors to fill your mind with color and illuminate your imagination. This workshop will give the participants a sense that they hold power beyond explanation within and remind them that everything is light.
